Link Energy

Supporting non-profits within the community with free efficient energy lightbulbs, Link Energy also wanted to support their customers by enhancing and differentiating consumer experiences between households and businesses.

Story

As a well established energy provider in North America, Link Energy reduces energy costs for non-profits by 75% through the donations of LED lightbulbs with the help of their consumers. It was now Link Energy’s goal to give back to the households and businesses that support them by enhancing their platform experience, tailoring “signed-in” account features based on the needs of each consumer type.

Solution

Through competitive market research and user-feedback, our team was able to prioritize and organize account information for each consumer type. Our primary goal was to maximize simplicity and navigation efficiency to make the consumer’s experience as enjoyable as possible. Furthermore, we designed several visual features to enhance the account holders ability to retrieve energy use data via graphs and charts, ultimately allowing them to better manage their overall energy use.

Results

Based on the insights gathered and ideas contemplated, we were able to design two separate user flow experiences based on each consumer type needs. Household consumers are now able to easily view usage throughout time and automate payments for monthly energy bills, making energy supply more simplistic. Businesses are able to do a “deeper dive’ into energy use details in order manage and reduce overall costs for their business. As a result, all consumers were satisfied with the new premium experience and their ability to help their communities improve social responsibility.
